## What changed

It is not the same process as the CSAB Special Round covered earlier. The round is specifically for supernumerary seats linked to four Union Territories and offers seats at NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur, and SVNIT Surat. ## Who exactly is affected

- You were eligible for JoSAA 2026 or CSAB 2026 Special Rounds using your JEE Main 2026 rank. - Your State Code of Eligibility is one of the four listed UTs. - You do not have a valid allocated seat in the NIT+ system at the end of JoSAA and CSAB Special Rounds. - You are not occupying a DASA 2026 seat.

## What you must do today

1. Log in through the official CSAB Supernumerary portal using your JEE Main 2026 application number and the latest applicable password. 2. Register separately. Earlier JoSAA or CSAB Special registration does not automatically carry over. 3. Fill a fresh preference list. Earlier choices are declared null and void for this round. 4. Save choices frequently and lock them before 5:00 PM on August 24, 2026. If you do not lock them, the system will auto-lock the saved choices at the deadline. 5. Do not add a branch merely because its name sounds attractive. Check the institute, programme, location, reporting instructions, and your willingness to accept that exact combination. This is a preference order, not a list of possibilities that can be rearranged after allotment.

## If you receive a seat on August 25

During this period, an allotted candidate must upload the required documents and pay the Supernumerary Seat Acceptance Fee, or SSAF. The official fee is ₹38,000 for GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, and ₹18,000 for SC, ST and PwD candidates receiving a first-time allotment. ## What goes wrong here

If any of these steps is incomplete, the seat is automatically cancelled. After confirmation, failing to report physically or complete the institute’s admission formalities can also lead to cancellation, with no refund admissible under the brochure’s stated rule. Before locking, keep your Class X or birth certificate, Class XII marksheet, category certificate if applicable, State of Eligibility proof, medical certificate, and PwD documents if applicable ready in readable form.
