## What changed

OFFICIAL — JAC Chandigarh’s portal now lists the “Spot Round Seat Allocation Result for JAC Chandigarh Counselling 2026” and states that choice submission was compulsory for candidates who wanted to participate in the spot round. JAC admissions cover BE, B.Arch and Integrated BE programmes in Chandigarh and are based on JEE Main scores; the committee states that there is no separate entrance examination for this counselling. This is a useful fallback for JEE Main candidates who did not secure a satisfactory seat through JoSAA or CSAB, but it is not another JoSAA round. A JAC Chandigarh allotment follows JAC’s own reporting, document and institute rules. Do not treat the allotment screen as the final step.

## What you must do

1. Log in to the official JAC Chandigarh counselling portal and download your spot-round result and allotment letter. Do not rely only on a screenshot or a message from a coaching group.

2. Open your allotted institute’s physical-reporting notice. JAC has published separate institute-level notices after the spot round. The dates are not necessarily identical for every institute.

3. Prepare original documents and photocopies. For example, the UIET Chandigarh notice for newly admitted students required the original Class 10 certificate, Class 12 marks document, JEE Main rank or score card, JAC allotment letter, character certificate, photographs, applicable category documents, migration certificate and other supporting papers. 4. Check whether your institute requires a separate fee at reporting. UIET Chandigarh’s notice required a one-time mandatory Student Activity Fee of ₹6,000 by demand draft and stated that the fee was non-refundable. 5. If your reporting date has already passed, contact the allotted institute and JAC through the official helpdesk immediately. Do not assume that late reporting will be accepted. The institute notice says that failure to report for physical document verification can result in cancellation of the seat.

## What goes wrong here

The most common failure is assuming that “seat allotted” means “admission completed.” It does not. A seat can still be cancelled if the candidate does not report physically, fails document verification, brings an invalid category certificate, or misses an institute-specific payment instruction. OFFICIAL — the UIET notice expressly states that failure to report for physical document verification can lead to seat cancellation.

A second failure is carrying only digital copies. The UIET notice asked candidates to bring original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies. A third is confusing JAC’s spot-round vacancy list with a live guaranteed seat list. The PDF itself calls the vacancies tentative.

If you already hold a seat through JoSAA, CSAB or another counselling system, compare the withdrawal and reporting consequences before accepting a JAC seat. Do not surrender a confirmed seat merely because a spot allotment appears on screen; first verify the institute, branch, fee, reporting date and document requirements.
