JEE Main 2027 Notification Still Not Out: What to Prepare Now

NTA has not yet officially released the JEE Main 2027 notification as of September 2, 2026. The official JEE Main documents page and NTA notice archive still show JEE Main 2026 material, not a 2027 application notice. Students should therefore ignore unverified registration dates and use September to check documents, Aadhaar details, category certificates, and exam preferences before the real form is published. OFFICIAL — checked September 2, 2026: There is no confirmed JEE Main 2027 schedule yet on the official NTA or JEE Main portal. NTA has not officially announced the opening date, last date, examination dates, application fee, number of attempts, city-intimation schedule, admit-card dates, or result dates for JEE Main 2027. REPORTED — not confirmed by NTA: NDTV reported on August 11, 2026 that the notification may come around October 2026, with the examination expected in January and April 2027 based on the usual two-session pattern. Careers360 has reported a possible release in the last week of September 2026 and registration in October. These timelines conflict and neither is an NTA announcement. (ndtv.com)

The safe decision is to prepare now but do not submit money, documents, or personal information through a third-party “early registration” link. Wait for the application link published on `jeemain.nta.nic.in` or `nta.ac.in`.

## Who is affected

This update applies to students planning to appear in JEE Main 2027, including:

- Class 12 students appearing for the first time in 2026–27; - students taking a drop year and preparing for JEE Main 2027; - candidates targeting Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech.; - candidates targeting Paper 2A for B.Arch or Paper 2B for B.Planning; and - students who may later use JEE Main ranks for NIT, IIIT, GFTI, state, or private-college admissions.

The final 2027 rules may differ from 2026. Do not assume that the 2026 fee, attempt rule, eligibility wording, correction facility, exam cities, or document requirements will automatically continue.

## What you should do now

OFFICIAL—checked September 2, 2026: NTA’s previous JEE Main advisory, issued on October 19, 2025 for JEE Main 2026, told candidates to keep identity and supporting information accurate and referred to Aadhaar authentication for details such as name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and address. ### What goes wrong here

The common failure is not a difficult question in the examination. It is a form error discovered after submission: a name mismatch, an invalid category certificate, an incorrect state, an unclear photograph, or selecting the wrong paper. Students sometimes pay an unofficial website, upload a poor-quality document, or assume every field can be corrected later. That assumption is unsafe.

For JEE Main 2026, NTA’s advisory said a name mismatch between Aadhaar and the Class 10 certificate could be handled through an option during the application stage. That does not guarantee the same facility for JEE Main 2027. If a field is marked non-editable in the 2027 correction notice, the mistake may remain until the examination or counselling stage. ## When should you act?

There is no official JEE Main 2027 deadline yet. Act before the notification is released, not after registration begins. If the reported September or October timelines are correct, document corrections started now may still be processing when the form opens.
