This is not another CSAB Round 2 result post. The important update for students today is the transition from online seat acceptance to institute-level reporting. A student can have paid the required online fee and still need to complete the admission process at the campus.

The affected institutions are the NIT+ system: NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs, SPAs and other participating GFTIs. This instruction does not cover IIT reporting, which is handled through the individual IIT’s reporting schedule.

## What you must do before travelling

OFFICIAL — checked August 12, 2026 against JoSAA and CSAB: First, log in to the relevant counselling portal and confirm that your seat has not been cancelled, withdrawn or replaced. Save your allotment letter, fee-payment receipts and every document submitted during verification.

Second, open the website of your allotted institute. JoSAA says physical-reporting schedules for institutes are updated through the participating-institutes section, so the August 13–18 window should not be treated as a universal arrival time for every campus. Check the institute’s exact reporting date, venue, working hours, hostel instructions and balance-fee notice.

Third, carry the original documents and several self-attested copies required by your institute. The exact list can differ, but students should normally be ready with the allotment letter, JEE Main or JEE Advanced result document as applicable, identity proof, Class 10 and Class 12 certificates or marksheets, category or PwD certificates where applicable, medical certificate and passport photographs. Use your institute’s own checklist as the controlling list rather than a coaching-blog checklist.

For CSAB candidates, the official 2026 brochure states that physical reporting at the allotted institute and balance-fee payment are tentatively scheduled for August 13–18, 2026. ## What goes wrong here

OFFICIAL — checked August 12, 2026: The most common mistake is treating online payment as the final step. For a JoSAA NIT+ candidate who is outside CSAB/DASA, physical reporting is still required. A second mistake is travelling on August 13 without checking the institute’s own schedule; the central window may contain different institute-level dates.

Another failure mode is mixing counselling routes. CSAB Special uses fresh registration, different choice filling and separate reporting requirements from JoSAA. CSAB’s official page states that the processes differ from JoSAA, and its brochure lists separate CSAB payments, document uploads and query-response deadlines. (csab.nic.in)

Inference, based on the official requirement to report: If you do nothing during the applicable reporting window, you risk not completing admission even if your online seat acceptance and fee payment were successful. Do not wait for a reminder message from the institute.
